Happy Sunday! Oh man, what a week! It’s been a busy one for me. I’m still working on rebuilding and rebranding my website. Apologies for the broken links and pages that are not finished! I am grateful for all of the things I’m learning about the internet.
Gratitude for this week
One good thing that happened to me this week… I won an award for blogging yesterday! Yeah, it was a huge surprise! I had no idea I was nominated. If you’re the reader that nominated me, I want to say a super huge, “Thank you!” That really made everything that I’m doing and all the women I’m trying to reach cement that I’m making a difference! Seriously, thank you so much.
The award was Most Influential Blogger from an organization called Healing Black Women! The founder is a woman that has managed mental illness and all of its ups and downs. She created Healing Black Women to empower black women that have a mental illness to keep us from feeling alone. She is incredibly courageous and inspiring, and meeting her encouraged me to keep telling my story. You never know how your story can help someone in the world, so keep writing, posting, and sharing!
Someone I was thankful for this week… were actually someones! I met some incredible women in my coaching course. The amount of support they give me and each other every day is just ridiculous (in a good way). Becoming an entrepreneur in the middle of a pandemic and with no prior experience definitely has its ups and downs. It’s a learning experience, for sure. Having supportive people in my life is reassuring and empowering. Thanks ladies!
My favorite part of this week was seeing the moon two nights ago. I don’t know what was going on, but it was a huge and beautiful crescent moon. I’ve always been a big fan of Sailor Moon, so crescent moons have a special place in my heart. I’m not too into astrology, but I think it’s fun to peek at every now and then. There is a celestial event happening on Monday, and I’m hoping that the powers I get include the ability to go Super Saiyan. Monday is going to be a good day!
Last gratitude post’s affirmation was: I am grateful for my health.
This affirmation really put things in perspective for me. The pandemic has been a stressful and frightening time for everyone on the planet. This fear and stress have been a shared experience around the world. Isn’t that amazing? There isn’t one person alive that hasn’t had a thought that you’ve had about the pandemic. That’s 7 billion people all thinking and feeling as one. Incredible. I’m not sure that I’ve ever felt this united with the whole world, and unsure that I ever will again.
A comment on my Instagram account really got me thinking. It said, ‘Lotta ppl talk about how bad 2020 was but in reality we all got clarity perspective and encouragement … we were forced to be still and review ourselves and our surroundings.”
That is such a true statement. A lot of us were alone with our thoughts and ourselves for a long time. There were so many memes and videos about people being drunk before 11 am. Was it because of boredom or because they were having to look at themselves and didn’t like what they were seeing?

It’s a blessing that the virus finally has a vaccine. So many lives have been lost and irreversibly changed by the pandemic. I am hoping that the new year brings blessings and hope to all the families affected by the virus. 2020 has been so difficult for so many. Hopefully, positive change is on its way.
My affirmation for this week is: I allow myself to receive everything I desire.
What are my desires when it comes to finishing out 2020? I desire extended peace of mind and achieved goals. I want to help women break their toxic cycles and become better than they ever dreamed they could be. I want health and happiness for my friends and loved ones. I want stability, independence, and more growth. 2021 is the year I continue to walk in my truth and bring others into theirs.
